Hi, I’m Kelly Dodd.

Originally from the USA, I have spent half of my life immersed in the hospitality industry and now proudly call New Zealand my home. With a Master’s Degree and two decades of experience, I bring boundless energy and a genuine desire to enhance both individuals and businesses.

In my most recent role as Area Manager at Expedia Group, I led strategic rebound initiatives post-COVID in New Zealand, fostering team resilience and personal growth. Before moving, I significantly contributed to the success of operators in Austin, Texas in my role as a Market Manager. Over an 8.5 year period, I remained at the forefront of technology advancements, gaining a deep understanding of destination management, online distribution, and honing my skills in data analytics and consultancy to help hotels and tourism organisations develop robust revenue growth strategies.

Prior to Expedia Group, I refined my sales and negotiation skills in four progressive sales roles across 4 Starwood Hotels and Resorts. I gained insight into the dynamic Food & Beverage industry over 5 years in various roles which got me my start in hospitality, began my wine learning journey, and ultimately inspired me to get a Masters in the field.

As a self-proclaimed data nerd, I'm a strategic thinker with a strong analytical skill set. I excel at big-picture thinking, challenging assumptions, and identifying root causes. I thrive on extracting insights from the mundane, weaving compelling narratives that drive results.

Living by the principles of openness and fostering genuine connections, my mission revolves around connecting people and ideas. Known for maintaining influence and composure in high-pressure situations, I am friendly, courteous, deeply service-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional results.

Beyond my professional endeavours in tourism, I find joy in experiencing it with my husband and two hilarious kids.
